Lets Keep Java Updated Guide

Java , if installed on your Windows computer needs to be updated when the update reminds you , as out of date Java is a security hazard and can lead to malware / virus infections on your computer. 

Here is a step by step guide with images to help you , make sure you work your way right through the process. 

First :go to your control panel and look for Java  

Open the update tab

Click update now  

Now wait for a while ( depends on your internet connection ) for the following to appear  , then click install

Now the Java setup welcome will appear  , press install

On the next screen it will have either what you see or the Ask Toolbar – remove the ticks and press next  

If you left the Java Control Panel open just close it down  

The install will now take place and will run through and install

You will get a confirmation screen , but you need to wait until Java opens up a web page to confirm the install 

Once the web page opens  

 

You will see now that you have the opportunity to remove old copies of Java which you should do . 

Your computer will be checked and old copies will be removed as the following images show
