Don’t Take Candy From Strangers

Computer Repair Adelaide Malware-Virus Prevention

When you have an internet connected device – computer – should you really be taking files from strangers when presented with them on a USB , drive , CD or DVD ?

These files can be software or media files for example.

No.

One , you do not know what you are receiving and in many cases and you don’t know what comes with these files.

Two – usb devices that are passed around should not just randomly be inserted into computers – you don’t know what is on them and many organisations will even go to the extreme of glueing up the usb ports so random drives cannot be used.

Three – free software usually comes with some caveats – which can include malware , adware

So be careful – don’t take candy from strangers and make sure you scan any drives that you are given with your antivirus solution.
