mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;}Apple computers are more secure with less security problems so when a pop up appears in the browser from the “anti hacking department of Apple” , should you be concerned ?
No , you have visited a site that is having security issues as websites can become infected and then when you visit the site it tries to install on your computer
On a Windows computer these infections may spread but on an Apple computer they will only infect your browser
Some of these will also ask you to call a number – do not do that
If you do call the number , they will try and get you to let them log onto your computer , then charge you as well as installing all sorts of other programs in the background
So if you are on an Apple computer and this happens , what should you do ?
- Clear history
- Remove all website data – safari – preferences – privacy
- Remove any unknown extensions
- Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware For Mac
Also be aware that when you browse with Google Chrome you may see the following now.
