Chewing Through Data With Windows 10 – What To Check

First if you are on a connection from a mobile broadband device you will want to limit the usage so how do you do this in Windows 10.

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.(If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
  2. Tap or click Network, and then tap or click Connections.
  3. Tap or click the connection you want to change, and then, under Data usage, turn Set as a metered connection on or off.

Next :Turn off background apps

Windows 10 keeps some apps running in the background such as the Mail app.

Turn off some of these apps by going to Settings > Privacy > Background apps.

Then turn off apps that use background data that you don’t need.
