Emails – Don’t Ignore These Tips

I get more questions on emails than any other subject , so here are a couple of tips that you should not ignore.

First , be aware of how much email can you store on the server of your ISP.

  • TPG appear to have a 2GB limit – which maybe fine if you have a POP account that does not leave emails at TPG when you have downloaded them to your computer or device.
  • iiNet / and its related companies ( Internode, Ozemailetc) the limit is 1GB – again which maybe fine if you have a POP account that does not leave emails at iiNet when you have downloaded them to your computer or device.

Don’t ignore these limits as in the terms and conditions

“TPG will not be responsible for emails deleted automatically once the specified storage limit is reached”

This appears to also be the same for iinet so don’t ignore the limit.

Outlook Users – In outlook don’t let your PST file get too large as you can cause serious errors to your file , anything over 5 to 10gb should have its size reduced by archiving old emails which will reduce the size.
