It’s The Macbook Pro 13 ” Retina Review

I have now been using the Macbook Pro 13″ Retina laptop for a week now and can say that it is the best laptop I have seen or used.

I was after a laptop that was small and thin and had been using a 13″ Macbook Air for the past 18 months but needed something with more grunt and was after a better screen that would be easier on my eyes. The Macbook Pro delivers on all fronts.

The Macbook Pro does not have a DVD drive so it is surprisingly light , heavier than the Macbook Air but not that much and the speed , 2.5 ghz Intel Core i5 with 8GB 1600 mhz DDR3 Ram makes it a far quicker machine.

However it is the screen that makes it a joy to use , the retina screen is quite extraordinary with no discernment between pixels not noticeable. Photos look tremendous.

Retina Display basically means that discernment of individual pixels is not possible from a specified, normal viewing distance. Looks like a bright colorful printed page , however if websites have not been built for retina viewing they can look a bit patchy.

Storage is only 256GB ( flash storage ) but it has 2 USB3 ports on it , so saving to an external hard drive that runs USB3 is no issue or by effectively using  the cloud for working on files.

Windows 8 and 7 run effortlessly using Vmware Fusion .

This really is a great laptop that can do anything you throw at it , it’s light , small and portable and has a screen that is easy on the eye and looks magnificent.
