In light of recent events maybe it is time to look at the settings on our social media accounts to stop videos automatically playing.
In Facebook go to your settings – people rarely visit this section !!! Look for the videos reference and switch “Auto-Play Videos” to “off”.
Go to your settings – look for Privacy & Location
Remove the tick from “Display media that may contain sensitive content” so that it is unchecked
(On iOS or Android, pull up Twitter’s settings and tap on “Data usage”. Go to “Video autoplay” and select “Never” to ensure that you don’t see video content on your smartphone that you do not want to see.
How about we also start reporting video or posts that are offensive / hurtful / inciting and we do not share them.
