Make The Switch To Google Chrome – Now Even Faster

Whether you are on a Windows computer or a Mac , Google Chrome has always been my browser of choice and now even more so.

Google Chrome has had a “spring-clean”, making it faster and more efficient.

The browser, has been updated to make pages load faster and scrolling smoother to save memory and power. One example is that, tabs are automatically restored from most viewed to least recently viewed, if you were to quit unexpectedly.

If your computer is running low on resources, Chrome will stop restoring the rest of your tabs to save you memory.

The other, more memory-saving technique is that Chrome can now detect when a webpage isn’t busy being used, and use the free time to clean up old, unused memory.

To save power, Chrome will auto-pause Flash content that isn’t central to the webpage. According to the Google team, tests showed a saving of up to 15pc battery power.

How to upgrade Google Chrome

Feeling convinced, but don’t know how to upgrade manually? If you’re eligible, here’s how to get it going.

If you’re on a computer, find the three-lined menu in the top right corner of Chrome , the hamburger menu.

If there’s an update available for your system, you’ll be able to see an option that says “Update Google Chrome.” Click it, then click “Restart.”

All your windows and tabs will be saved for the next time you re-open the browser.

Reset Google Chrome

If things go wrong with Google Chrome you can always reset it back to default settings , this can occur if you have some ad related malware or extensions that have made there way into Chrome.
