Microsofts One Drive – Use It For Backing Up

One Drive – the Cloud Storage feature which is part of Windows 10 is a great service now that more people should be taking advantage of.

Microsoft give you 5GB of cloud storage for free with One Drive , however if you have an Office 365 account, you get a terabyte of online storage with your subscription.

This is enough to backup most computers.

So why use One Drive:

  • One Drive will allow you to synchronise files (Desktop, Pictures, and/or Documents folders) between the cloud and a local folder – that means if you change it on the computer it is changed in the cloud.
  • Using the One Drive software which is available for just about any platform – Android , Apple and Windows , plus smartphone and tablets you can access your files.
  • Your backed-up files on One Drive offer ransomware protection which means you can recover previously saved versions from the cloud.
  • One Drive means you can easily share files, photos, and even entire folders with friends, co-workers, and family members.
