Should you be relying on an app to tell you if a mushroom is edible , no should be the answer that comes to mind.
There are numerous mushroom identification apps but they are all marketed with varying degrees of responsibility.
When I searched the iTunes store, some mushroom identification apps included disclaimers that you shouldn’t rely on it to tell you what’s edible others did not.
However at the other end of the spectrum is an Android app called Edible Fungi that claims all you need is “a good identification guide and a dash of common sense” to decide what to eat.
So if you need an app to decide which mushroom is ok to eat you really should stick to the traditional ways of buying mushrooms , fruit & veg stores and the supermarket.
