I am always being asked about security on an Apple computer and why you don’t need virus software.
You can select to run only software that comes from the mac app store therefore stopping any links running bogus software that will infect your computer.
Yes it might restrict you sometimes on some software but you can always reconfigure when installing known good software but at least you know you will be safe , great for children in school or for those people that just cant help themselves.
Virus software for mac / apple computers is usually a hindrance to the operating system and is rarely to never updated and is probably a waste of money.
To stop other software running on your Apple computer just go to System Preferences , go to the Security & Privacy tab and select Allow Apps Downloaded From :Mac App Store
