What To Do About Spam – Junk Email – Stop It Before It Lands On My Device

There are 2 initial ways for people to try and stop spam or unwanted emails from appearing on your devices. Filter them after they arrive  on your computer / tablet / smartphone- this means tagging them as spam or junk and moving them to a spam folder. This does mean they will arrive on your computer / tablet / smartphone , then you have to do something about them. Filter them before they arrive on your computer / tablet / smartphone which means doing it at your internet service providers online email page ( webmail ).This means they will not appear on your computers / smartphone / tablet inbox. This does take time to work as you have to train the email client to recognise the unwanted emails and delete them. Battery Draining Quickly On Your Smartphone – Whats Using It

So why do our batteries run down so quickly on our smartphones and what is using our battery life. Well both iOS and Android can show the apps that are using up your battery. On iOS open the Settings app and tap on “Battery.” You’ll see a list of apps which will show in order of how much battery they’ve consumed either the last 24 hours and over the last week. There’s also a clock icon to the right that will tell you exactly how long each app has been running on screen and in the background. When you go to the bottom of this screen, you’ll see the total usage time since the last full charge and the time that the phone was in standby. Android users should open the Settings app from the app drawer and open the “Battery” option. Mushroom Apps – Should You Use Them

Should you be relying on an app to tell you if a mushroom is edible , no should be the answer that comes to mind. There are numerous mushroom identification apps but they are all marketed with varying degrees of responsibility. When I searched the iTunes store, some mushroom identification apps included disclaimers that you shouldn’t rely on it to tell you what’s edible others did not. However at the other end of the spectrum is an Android app called Edible Fungi that claims all you need is “a good identification guide and a dash of common sense” to decide what to eat. So if you need an app to decide which mushroom is ok to eat you really should stick to the traditional ways of buying mushrooms , fruit & veg stores and the supermarket.

Google Home Is Now Here – And Its Great

Google Home, the voice-activated speaker which powered by the Google Assistant is out now . Google Home is available from Harvey Norman , Telstra and some major retailers at a cost of $199 With a simple “Ok Google”, Google Home will respond with answers to your questions , let you turn up the music that you can get it to play from Google Music , Spotify or YouTube. With Google Home you can keep up with your calendar , use it to manage your everyday tasks , play and pause the radio ( you just say Ok Google play – FIVEaa  Adelaide  or even turn on or adjust your compatible smart lights if you have them. Sound quality and voice recognition is excellent. A full list of functions of the Google Home can be found here : Google Home  Google Home works seamlessly with your internet connection. You will need a Google account and you just install the app on your smartphone and it will talk to the Google Home and set it up – extremely easy to do. I have had one since Friday and am very impressed.
