Beware Of Links On Facebook Promising To Fix Your Computer

Browsing on Facebook can sometimes result in you seeing an ad that will promise you that this ad ( and what it offers ) can fix your computers issues. I came across this one recently  However what happens when you click this ad when you have U Block Origin installed in your browser. U Block Origin which I recommend does not like this link because it is trying to load ” something ” onto your computer without you knowing it. Steer clear of ” mystery fixes for your computer whether it is a Windows computer or a Mac because you don’t know what you will get.

Things I Do Not Like – Slim Cleaner Plus

Slim Cleaner Plus will promise you the world and appears on many peoples computers and back in 2012 it received an award. We have however moved on since 2012. I have not seen it fix anything on any computers that have had it on , it has only caused issues and when you have Slim Cleaner Plus on your computer it usually has other software that somehow installs such as driver updaters. Just uninstall it – it will take some uninstalling , so use Geek Uninstaller as just using the uninstall from programs in Windows will result in ” remnants ” being left behind.

Java – If You Do Not Use It Get Rid Of It

Many people have Java on their computers and will receive the reminders to update it on a regular basis which you should do. However many people do not need it and will never miss it if you uninstall it. Java has been used by some financial institutions including the ATO so if you submit your BAS online from your computer you will be stuck with it. It is also used with some online games. For everyone else go to programs in your control panel and uninstall it as outdated Java installs can lead to your computer becoming infected.
