Microsoft are about to make changes to Windows 10 and how you get it
Let me just say though :Windows 10 on a new PC is just fine , problems occur when you have issues with your old computer and thinking that installing Windows 10 will solve your issues.
What Should You Do Before You Upgrade To Windows 10
Backup – through the Windows backup or by a manual version to an external hard drive or if you have a cloud based version.
It can also help in some cases to uninstall your antivirus before you do try to install , then reinstall after if you don’t want to use Windows defender which is built into Windows 10.
So How Will The Installation Of Windows 10 Change ?
Windows 10 will soon become an optional update that you will see in your Windows updates and next year it will become a recommended update.This change, while it will not automatically install the OS, will download the bits on to your machine unless you turn off automatic downloads and update your machine manually each month.
This means if you forget to take the tick out when installing updates you will get Windows 10.
Remember :You can still rollback to your old operating system for up to 31 days after installing Windows 10.
Can I Download Windows 10 Now ?
Threshold 2 , the code name for a major update to Windows 10 , should be released Nov 10th so I would wait a week and then download and install Windows 10.
