Verify Your Details – Fake SMS Messages

Many would have received an SMS recently saying that you need to “verify your banking details”.

These are fake messages that most will and should ignore.

So what website will you go to if you click that link ?

Here is the FAKE one – here is an example for ANZ

If you look in the address bar you will see that there is no S in the address bar (https) and that is why it is labelled as not secure.

Here is the REAL one

ANZ Real

You will see the address bar is green and you can see https but given they look so similar is why people are tricked.

You will also notice that the address is different in the fake one.

Remember no S with http means you should not shop or bank as the site is not secure.
