Who Will Look After Your Facebook Account When You Die ?

Facebook will soon allow you to nominate someone to manage your profile when you’re gone , this is currently rolling out in some countries.

You will nominate a “Legacy Contact” who will be able to add a pinned post with a final message or notification about a memorial service, update your profile picture, and download your shared posts.
You can designate one” Legacy Contact” in the Settings menu, under Security.

For profiles without a legacy contact, verified family members of the deceased users ( you will have to provide proof to Facebook ) can request that Facebook memorialises the account.

This will add the word ‘remembering’ next to the person’s name, remove ads from the profile ( you do not need funeral ads ) and prevents references to it appearing on the timeline.
