Yahoo Email has been the subject of security issues for a long time now and I urged a listener last week on FIVEaa to ” dump it like a hot rock ”
But how do you do this especially if you have had your address for a long time and dont yet want to close down your Yahoo account?
My solution is to redirect it – send your Yahoo Email address to another address – such as a Gmail address or your ISPs address that you use. eg: richard@bigpond.com ( thats not my email address btw ).
So how do you do this?
First logon to your Yahoo Account and there is an option to switch to the Classic Look – you need to do this.
Then go to SETTINGS
Then you will see the ACCOUNTS – click on that
Then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you will see the option to forward your Yahoo address
Add in your forwarding address – put a tick in the box
You will need to verify that mail can be received at the other address as Yahoo will send an email there.
Then never go back to Yahoo – advise anyone that uses that address that you have now changed.
