You Can Swap Your Antivirus
If you have an antivirus solution on your computer , you may want to swap to a different one or uninstall it and let Defender do its job.
All antivirus makers supply an uninstall tool on their websites.
- Avast Uninstall Tool
- Avira Uninstall Tool
- AVG Uninstall Tool
- McAfee Uninstall Tool
- Kaspersky Uninstall Tool
- Total AV - I would use Geek Uninstaller to remove all remains of Total AV as it is a problem and It is one antivirus I would never recommend.
This is preferable to removing from apps or programs as they can leave behind a “ residue “ that will prevent a new antivirus doing its job or Windows Defender being unable to work.

Avast , Avira , AVG , McAfee , Kaspersky , Total AV
The only 2 I would recommend if you do not use Defender which is free and comes with Windows is Norton and Trend
