Tech Talk with Leith Forrest – Wednesday 12th August 2026 (FIVEaa Afternoons)
On the show: Getting your digital affairs in order – making sure someone can get into your computer and phone, find the passwords and photos, cancel subscriptions and close down Facebook, Google and Microsoft accounts after you pass away. Also opening PDFs in Word, what Apple’s move away from Intel means for older Macs, transferring data from an old iPad, Facebook Marketplace asking for ID, fake PDF pop-ups on Samsung phones, and saving up to 20% at the Apple Refurbished Store.
Your calls: Mac warnings about apps that need Apple Silicon (reinstalling Canon printer drivers and removing Java and NTFS), why modems only last around five years and why you should turn yours off once a week, Telstra business phones suddenly diverting to message bank, staying on Windows 7, moving to a new Samsung with Smart Switch, saving iPhone photos to a hard drive, and running old Windows XP software on Windows 11.
