Prices Are Rising On Computers

If you’ve been thinking about buying a new computer lately and thought, “Hang on… weren’t these cheaper a few months ago?” — you’re not imagining it.

Prices have crept up. There’s a bit going on behind the scenes. We’ve got ongoing shortages and price pressure on key components — things like RAM and storage. That’s the guts of your computer — the bits that actually make it fast and usable — and when those go up, everything goes up.

Now here’s the trap people fall into… they walk into a store or jump online and think, “I’ll just get the cheapest one.” That’s where you get burned.

Because if you buy too little — not enough memory, not enough storage — the machine will feel slow almost straight away. But on the flip side, overspending on a high-end beast you’ll never fully use? That’s just as bad.

So right now, more than ever, it’s about buying smart.

If you’re doing email, web browsing, a bit of Office — you don’t need a powerhouse. But if you’re editing photos, running a business, juggling lots of apps — you need to prioritise memory and a decent solid-state drive.

However in my opinion remember to get 16GB of ram for Windows 11 - you will thank me.

And here’s the key takeaway: don’t just look at the price tag — look at what you’re actually getting.

Because in this market, the cheapest computer can end up being the most expensive mistake.
