The iCloud Scam
Apple users are being warned about a scam doing the rounds — and this one is designed to hit you right where it hurts: your iCloud account.
The scam usually arrives as an email or text message or pop-up warning claiming your iCloud storage is full, your account is suspended, or there’s a security issue that needs “urgent attention.” Looks good. But the moment you click the link, you’re potentially handing your Apple ID and password.
And once scammers get access to your Apple account? Your photos, contacts, emails, backups, passwords, even the ability to remotely lock your device — all suddenly become vulnerable.
Scammers are getting smarter by using realistic Apple branding, accurate device information, and fake “Find My iPhone” pages to trick people into logging in.
The golden rule is simple:Never click links in unexpected texts or emails claiming to be from Apple.
If you’re worried there’s an issue with your account, go directly to Apple’s official website or open the Settings app on your iPhone manually. Don’t trust random links.
Also turn on two-factor authentication, use a strong passcode, and enable Apple’s Stolen Device Protection feature if your iPhone supports it.
