IF YOU LOSE ACCESS TO YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT – YOU MAY NOT GET IT BACK

I have urged people and listeners for a long time to lock down their Facebook accounts – in fact you should lock down all accounts, but failure to lockdown Facebook (or any Meta account) can result in it being taken over.

You will get messages that your phone number has changed and your recovery email address has changed.

You may then have to prove who you are by uploading personal documents ( drivers license )and there is no guarantee you will get back into your account.

So what to do ?

Go into Facebook security settings and

  • Have a password you only use for Facebook
  • Turn on 2 factor authentication.
  • Turn on notifications for login alerts from unknown sources

It only takes a short time to do this and Facebook will step you through this.
